Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter launches today

NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite are set to lift off together aboard an Atlas V rocket today at 5:12 p.m. EDT. Mark Robinson, of ASU's School of Earth and Space Exploration, contributed an imaging system known as LROC (short for Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera) to the mission.
